Cine films are transferred with the same film scanners as 35mm and 16mm professional films. In film transfers, a4K professional scanner reads each screen into memory digitally in real time.
The sharpness is top notch. The outline of the image can be emphasized. All color areas can be corrected and there is no flicker in the image.
The Rank Cintel 4K scanner also accepts old and dried film. If the film is convex, it can be straightened by adjusting the air pressure. In this way, the film is sharp over the entire image area.
Although 8mm film often does not contain HD information, HD transfer is sometimes more compatible with a videoprojector, for example.
n Reel One, light and color adjustments are always made during transfer. If the film is dark, the scanning is stopped and light is added to the film. When the film is too light, the light is dropped. This is done manually, which allows for the best end result. No automat can detect exposure variations properly in a moving image. It is important that repairs are made during the transfer. Light cannot be added afterwards to an image that is too dark, and burnt-through summer images cannot be corrected later.
