It effectively removes scratches, debris and noise. Digital correction is suitable for video material and sometimes also for film. Its use is always agreed upon separately. VS4 places the damage by taking a “around” healthy picture. The device can stabilize the jitter caused by the film camera's image port. The image, or parts of it, can be sharpened or softened. The device operates in real time with a 4-frame delay at full D1 resolution. Even the signal-to-noise ratio of VHS material can be improved, which makes the copy better than the original.
